Requirements for Taiwan Visa Free Entry

Filipinos are now granted visa-free entry to the Republic of China (Taiwan, ROC) for holiday, sightseeing, business, visiting relatives, and attending functions or events not exceeding 14 days as from  November 1, 2017 on a trial basis, until July 31, 2018.
There's no longer a need to apply for a visa or a Travel Authorization Certificate from Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in the Philippines. A tourist may simply show up for his flight.
A Filipino visa-free visitor must meet the following requirements:
  • An ordinary/regular passport with remaining validity of at least six months from the date of entry ( Diplomatic & official passport holders are not eligible for visa-free treatment);
  • A return ticket or a ticket for the traveler's next destination and a visa for that destination if it is required;
  • A proof of accommodation. It may be hotel booking or host/sponsor’s contact information (invitation letter) /or arrangements of tour, travel, visit, events and meeting etc.
  • No criminal record in Taiwan;
  • The visit should not exceed 14 days from the date of arrival in Taiwan to the date of departure.
However, those who intend to stay in Taiwan for more than 14 days or for the purpose of study, work, missionary, employment and other gainful activities are still required to obtain appropriate visas before entering Taiwan.

Tips: If you are visiting Taiwan without a sponsor, bring with you some cash (show money) or a bank statement stating that you have enough money to spend in Taiwan during your visit. You do not go to Taiwan and just stay in your hotel, so better bring some.

Happy Travelling!
